If you are aged 12-18 the Swan Youth Centre in Berkhamsted is for you! We organise a wide variety of activities for you to get involved with every week day and gig nights once a month. Come and hang out with your friends, play pool or table football, use the internet or just chill out.
The Swan Youth Centre's main aim is the provision of a safe, drug-free and alcohol-free environment where young people aged 12-18 years can meet informally and participate in a variety of social education programmes and activities.
The centre is equipped with a pool table, DJ booth, table football, internet room, play station, chill-out room, coffee bar and drum kit.
Activities:
After school drop-in 3.30-6pm Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and now on Wednesdays too!
Youth Council meetings 4.30-6pm on Wednesdays once or twice a month.
Swan Skater meetings 4-5pm on Wednesdays once a month.
Swan Activities planning group 4-5pm on Wednesdays once a month.
Year 9 drop in, Tuesdays 6-8pm.
Year 8 drop-in, Thursdays 6-8pm.
Gig Nights 7-10.30pm once a month.
In addition to our regular activities, we hold one-off sessions organised in consultation with the members and trips out. These include quiz nights, pool competitions, yoga, African drumming, ice skating and theatre trips.
We hold rehearsal sessions for local bands, hire the centre out for private parties for under 16s, and hire out the space to local community groups when we're not running our own activities.
